Crab Advisory Committee Meeting

Colonial Beach, VA — The Potomac River Crab Advisory Committee, which is comprised of private citizens and industry representatives, will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, in the John T. Parran Hearing Room of the PRFC Office Building, 222 Taylor Street, Colonial Beach, Virginia.

There will be an update on the crab harvest and the 2014/2015 winter crab dredge survey results. There will be a discussion on the current season and the upcoming 2015/2016 crab management year (July1, 2015 through June 30, 2016).

The Committee will also discuss the upcoming June, 2015 public hearing item related to possible changes to hard crab minimum size, crab pot transfers, a vacancy for lower river peeler potter, and election of new officers.

These meetings are open to the public and all interested persons are invited to attend. The Potomac River Fisheries Commission coordinates regulations with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (DGIF) and with the other Atlantic coastal states through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC).
